Welcome to the Sir William Mulock Secondary School Mathematics Department.
Whether you aim to be a Chemical Engineer, Physicist, Veterinarian or Cashier, Mathematics is sure to play a large role in your future. As Galileo once said, "Mathematics is the language with which God has written the universe", and so to better understand our place in it, we had best have an appreciation for Math.
At SWMSS we offer a full range of Math courses ranging from theoretical to application based. We greatly recommend that each student research the course requirements for any potential career path and become familiar with the various course pathways that are available. Students are also encouraged to participate in the many National and Provincial Math Contests.
We boast a phenomenal department of teachers who are committed to their students' success; extra help is always available. We are very proud to be on the cutting edge with respect to the changing curricula, and our teachers employ proven and effective teaching strategies to equip their students.
Whatever your pursuits, we have a Math class that is right for you!

EQAO
The Grade 9 Assessment of Mathematics provides individual and system data on students' knowledge and skills, based on the expectations for students in Grade 9 applied and academic programs in The Ontario Curriculum, Grades 9 and 10: Mathematics.
All students in these programs are required to participate in the assessment. All secondary schools in the York Region District School Board include student work from the Grade 9 EQAO Assessment of Mathematics as 5% of the student’s summative assessment mark for the mathematics course.
More information and practice materials are available on the EQAO website.
